Report RSCOMP1 ended with errors while compression

Dear Experts,

As I gone through about this issue in SDN, I found some thing lack to get the exact solution. Help me for the below issue.

Issue like we are compressing 0COPA_C01 cube , after some requests compression we got an error like

00:41:32 Report RSCOMP1 ended with errors                                                                           RSM1          798          E

00:41:32 Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE                                                          00           564          A

But strange like even though we got this error message we found our request got the status of succesful compression check mark. Attaching the screen shot for the same.

Please suggest what might be the reasons and how to avoid such issues infront.

Hi Vidya,

Green or red Status indicates load was success or not, status is not related to compression. For compression there is column in same tab.

I try to explain the symbol of compression which is correct in the screen shot, not about the monitor status.The thread which you mentioned issues are not taking part in this issue. Please suggest.

FYI , Please find the error message..

Characteristic attribute exists twice

Message no. DBMAN368

Diagnosis

While updating to the E fact table at least one characteristic attribute was
changed multiple times. This is caused by an inconsistency in the E fact table.
There are usually multiple entries for one characteristic attribute in the E
fact table

Procedure

Check the  E fact table for multiple entries for one characteristic
attribute. A correction of the dataset for the E fact table should only be done
in consultation with SAP Support.

Issue investigated , need to run the specific dimension of the cube in RSRV, by choosing the All Elementary tests-> Transactional data-> Multiple entries in dimensions of a  basis cube -> choose and exceute if founds any warings run correct error option in RSRV again. This will correct the error.

One more thing like this wont make any issues to the compression or data consistency as the values and summation of data will be done correctly.

Please refer the message no:- DBMAN368 for reference this cant be any issue mentioned by SAP.

Hi Vidya,

look like a its inconsistency issue. attribute values was changed multiple times, while compressing request unable to find the right record info to compress so that's y its gave message, but mean while  its took some time to compress and gone to green.

One more issue coming while running one specific dimenion for a different cube dimension

Test Multiple inputs in an InfoCube dimension  was cancelled due to an
unknown error

Can you help me while executing RSRV test for multiple Entries in a basis cube , got the above error message.

Log off from the system and try it again. Saying thanks in scn mean be rewarding points. pls follow the scn rules. one thread one issue.

Intially I ran the specific dimensionneed  of the cube in RSRV, by choosing the All Elementary tests-> Transactional data-> Multiple entries in dimensions of a  basis cube -> choose and exceute if founds any warings run correct error option in RSRV again. This will correct the error.

unknown error-- For this I re ran the RSRV again and this error not been appeared again. And finally the compression is happening correctly with out any issues.

And this note message no:- DBMAN368 states , this wont be any issue with respect to data load and data summarizartion in cube output.
