SAP BW on Mac M1 - Network is only supported in WinGUI

Hi Experts,

I am currently use macbook pro with M1 chip for running SAP BW in SAP GUI. The problem is I can't open some feature in BW like transformation, because of this error :

And for further error detail is :

My question is, whether there is any possible way to solve this issue? So, I can still do 'BW things' in Mac,,,

For some information, I used SAP GUI 7.70 rev 6 (for Java).

Hello Clement,

I do not think that this issue has an resolution on SAP GUI JAVA. This is a reason why many BW folks using Macs are using virtual WINDOWS machines' to work with BW. Clearly SAP BW uses ActiveX controls to render some parts of process chains, transformations etc in GUI that is only available on WIN OS.

So I believe you have two options:

A) use BW modeling tools of SAP Studio (eclipse based) to do modeling work and/or SAP BW/4HANA cockpit to do administration/operation type of work in BW (in case you are on BW/4 version of BW)

B) use SAP GUI that is not JAVA based, e.g. via virtual MS WIN on your Mac
