Duplicate file handling for File sender channel - SAP PI 7.4 (Dual stack)

Dear All,

Sender file channel is getting failed due to duplicate files while channel is processing into archive folder. Currently we are using SAP PI 7.4 (Dual stack). There is no option (Duplicate handling) in channel parameters. Can you please advise on this?

Hello Sudheer,

'Duplicate handling' feature is available in SAP PI 7.4. Please check it the sender File communication channel and what is the SP level?

Once Enable duplicate handling is selected under Processing Tab.Then you need to define Duplicate Message Alert Threshold value It will process the given number of duplicates and if the duplicate count exceeds.

By default value is 0, then the file will be processed only once ( Original Message + Zero Duplicates). if you select Disable Channel if threshold exceeded then the channel will become inactive for next messages and further message will not be processed. Duplicate alerts are sent to alert inbox.

Coming to Archive Files on FTP Server, obviously if same file is placed again in source directory message considered as Already processed and Duplicate detected. Henceforth will not deliver the message to SAP ECC and gets failed in PI.

Our Basis team did SPS upgradation and able to see the option "Enable duplicate handling". Thanks for the help!
