Question in xcelsius sp3, widget

Hi , experts.

I want to know if it is possible to create widget for client's desktop

,of course using swf. created by xcelsius and BO/BI or something.

Anyway can i make the widget using xcelsius sp3?

if it's possible i wish your help

Hi,

You can go with easier approach.

BI widgets is a part of SAP Business Object Enterprise suit. Where you can directly use the WebI reports it offers other useful functionalities as well.

Hi,

Yes we can create widgets with Xcelsius 2008. All we need to do is we have to export the dashboard to AIR.

There are some pre requisites for makinga widget. First we have install AIR application on the machine.

If you want further information you can export a sample dashboard to AIR then it will prompt you the requisites which are missing on the machine.

After creating the AIR application say clock.air then you can run it on clients machine then it will get installed.(Similarly like a exe file)

but I have one more question...in exporting options, Air is disabled.

my xcelsius version is xcelsius 2008, installed sp 3.1, sp3.2, fp 3,4

what should i do???

Hi,

Please go through the following information.

To setup your system for Adobe AIR

If you want to export model content as an Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) desktop application, you

must install the Adobe Flex 3.0 SDK.

1. Download the Adobe Flex 3.0 SDK from the Adobe website.

https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=flash_builder

2. Extract the files in the zipped Adobe Flex SDK file to the following path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex

Builder 3 Plug-in\sdks\3.0

Note:

If you want to change the location for the SDK file, after you install Xcelsius, change the folder

location in file Xcelsiusu2019s Installation Path\Xcelsius\assets\air\sdkPath.dat file.

3. Download and install the Java 2 Runtime Environment (J2RE 1.4 or higher).

To run the exported AIR file, you will need to download and install the AIR player from the Adobe

website.

Hi,

As a few have noted, there is actually a Business Objects tool specifically for putting Xcelsius and Webi report parts on a user's desktop. It's called BI Widgets and it's really simple to set up and use.

You can use BI Widget tool to show dashboards / report parts as widgets in the desktop of user.

hi,

As per my knowledge, Xcelsius wouldn't provide Desktop widgets.

Xcelsius content can be deployed to Web Portals but not as a Desktop Widget.
