Hello Guys.
I have installed SAP ECC 6 EHP6. It´s running smoothly in my local PC under a VMware Workstation (Windows server and Oracle DB).
I can access it via SAPGUI outside my VMware without any problem (in my local PC/network).
1-Could you please give me a step by step procedure or tutorial to allow access into my local SAP ECC 6 server via Internet?
2-Can SAP Router address this requirement? If so.. how?
Over the last few days, I´ve been searching a way to do it without success.
I would appreciate any help.
P.S.: My Internet Service Provider has Dynamic IP. Not fixed IP.
Hello Flavio,
You need to be careful when exposing your system to the internet.
You might be inviting unauthorized access...
You should consider creating a VPN with your remote locations or end users, and provide the access through the VPN only.
Anyway, it would depend on what do you have facing the internet (a xDSL modem? a firewall? a router?).
I believe that the most easy way would be to create a NAT (or "DNAT") rule in such a way that whenever your internet public IP is accessed at the SAP port (32$$, where "$$" is the SAP instance number) it forwards the request to your SAP (internal) IP address.
Using a saprouter would not be mandatory.
Regarding your public IP being dynamic, you would have to find a way to inform the users to update the IP address at their SAP GUI every time your IP changes, or you can use a free dynamic DNS service.

Hi Isaias, thanks for you guidance.
I am aware of how dangerous is expose data in the Internet.
I have Internet access via a regular xDSL broadband modem in my house. It also have a built in router capability. I do not have firewall. I use Windows 8. Regular Internet user.
I believe VPN is for security matters. Not mandatory but I would considerer it in the future. Good to know that SAP Router configuration is not mandatory also.
My Internet public IP begins with 200* (Dynamic IP from my ISP) and my local network with 192.168* (Router/Modem). Any PC/Laptop can access my SAP ERP server inside my local network. it´s just add SAP Gui entries.
Could you please provide more details about NAT configuration for this requirement?
I would appreciate a step by step on that.
Thanks,
Flavio.

Hello Flavio,
I informed this in my first reply to this thread .

Hi Isaias,
I have the same situation, a SAP ERP 6.0 with private IP behind a firewall with public IP and i am trying to access to the server with SAPGUI from internet but the server respond "Partner '190.x.x.x:sapdp00' not reached.", error 10061 WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused". Telnet since internet to 3200 port has the same problem.
SAPGUI connection from inside network work it fine, telnet too.
The firewall has NAT and port forwarding configured and its work for IIS services but not for SAP ERP services.
I guess, that I need a exta configuration on SAP ERP, Could some one help me?
Antonio.
