HI All,
I am working in supporting Environment, I need to deal with many systems and some times I need to check whether the given system is portal system or not, then I am depending on the other team to get confirm this. But by looking into the technical components in the system (like by displaying the spam components..etc), can I be able to identify what component (portal or XI
)is installed in the system ?
Thanks & Regards
Rajesh Meda
Hi,
Check the url http://ipaddress:5xx00/irj/portal
If the pages is displays asking for user id and password then the system is portal system.

The answer above is completely correct, and it is the easiest way to find out if you have a portal system.
The reason why you can't find portal components in SPAM, is because portal is a java application. To find the portal components, you can check http://<host>:<j2ee_port>/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo or look in to JSPM. If, among others, you have component EPBC then it is a portal.
Best regards, Michael
