Hi Experts,

what is the difference between SAP clou dplatform and SAP CPI. My understanding is that SAP CPI is a integration service within CP which you can enable. is that right? If a cusotmer has purchased SAP CP, does he need to pay extra licence fee for using SAP CPI. Do they come with difference licensing cost? where can I find this information in SAP help?

Hi sankar_bhatta,

Yes Cloud Platform is a PaaS, Platform as a Service offering from SAP where as SAP CPI is a iPaas Integration platform as a Service.

You have to subscribe for services as per your need.

you can get the Pricing from the below link,

https://www.sap.com/india/products/cloud-platform/pricing/estimator-tool.html

Hope this helps !

thanks and regards,

Hi Praveen,

thanks for the quick reply . just to clarify. if a cusomter says he has licence for SAP CP, we should specifically ask if CPI is part of the subscription. It does not come as default with CP. Am I right?

Hi sankar_bhatta,

Yes you have to check with them whether they have the subscription for CPI as part of subscription.

There are other options of Licencing model e.g. CPEA where customer can pick and choose based on their need. So you have to request for those services to opt.

thanks and regards,
