Hi All,
I have 2 issues in BO 4.1 Webi chart, Please help me.
Issue-1:
On category axis I have 3 fields. 1, [Year] 2, [Week Number] 3, [Last day of Week]. I want to display Last day of week in 45 degree angle. There are only 2 options in Chart properties orientation either I have to select Automatic or Vertical Lettering. How can I display in 45 degree angle ?
Issue-2:
In the chart I do not want to display [Week Number], But when I remove [Week Number] sort is not working, Chart is displaying [Last day of Week] in random way. whereas in table we can hide [Week Number] so sort will work for [Last day of Week] but when I convert same table to chart sort is not working. To work sort I need to add [Week Number], Is there any option to sort based on [Last day of Week] without [Week Number]. (here custom sort will not work because there are many values for [Last day of Week]). Please check attachment for screen shots.
Thanks !!
Hi Neeraj,
Issue 1 workaround (99.9% not feasible, 0.1% hope though):
Apart from the only 2 options Automatic Vertical lettering that exist, there is another way you can get it be displayed at an angle between 30 and 45 degree, that is by re-sizing the Chart width, as shown below. If I increase/decrease the chart width, those labels with change to horizontal or vertical (with label beginning from bottom).
If your Users are not willing to live with that, you can increase or decrease the font size, such that the label is displayed at an angle (between 30 and 45 degree) as shown below, I've increased the Chart width, the font looks really big though (size 11) (no way that the Users will agree to it).
The final workaround which is feasible is, keep the Chart width as is (as you have in the image you posted) and then Format the Date Label as below:
2 major Cons of this workaround:
Hope that helps. I'll try to write a document about that.
Thanks,
Mahboob Mohammed

Hi Neeraj,
Can you refer one of my blog which is of similar requirement and issue.
Basically you need to have column on which you want to sort in number format. and use that object in the chart for sorting purpose and hide it. Display only the required value.
In your case you should last day of week in number format and in date format. Use number format for sorting and date format for display purposes

Hi Neeraj,
Issue 2 resolution:
Don't remove the Week Number from the Chart. Instead, Right click on the Chart -> Assign Data -> Click on the drop down icon next to Day of Week and select Hide the options. You'll see that the Week Number will be hidden from the Chart and you can still Sort on it.
Note: I realized that the Date labels displayed horizontally when Day Number of Month was not Hidden. So, Hide the Day Number of Month first (2nd issue) and then work to display the Date at an angle (1st issue).
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
Mahboob Mohammed
