Announcing a new version for SAP Data Service and Information Steward in 2024, expanding the product lifetime.
What is it ?
SAP Data Services is a powerful ETL tool, used by many of our customers to run their whole data landscape.
SAP Data Integrator is a sub-component of SAP Data Services that is proposed in many SAP BusinessObjects bundle packages.
SAP Information Steward is a powerful data profiling and monitoring and information policy management tool.
All those products, although running independently, are even more powerful when embedded within the SAP BusinessObjects platform solution.
Why this update ?
In june 2022, SAP released an updated Statement of direction of its BI products, announcing the release of a new on-premise BusinessObjects version in 2024.

The question quickly raised amongst our existing customers that were using both BusinessObjects 4.3 embedded with SAP DataServices 4.3 how the latest would evolve to ensure compatibility with the future release.
As product manager Shibajee Dutta Gupta stated in his release announcement :
"We do not want to leave our large customer base behind, and therefore we have decided to release an updated version, code named SAP Data Services 2024 and SAP Information Steward 2024 to provide more time to our on-premises customers to adopt our rapidly evolving, state-of-the-art cloud data integration scenarios."
This is indeed very exciting news for our huge installed base, to clearly know that they can safely keeping on investing in those great solutions or migrate at their pace to new SAP cloud based portfolio !
