In this edition of SAP BTP Innobytes, we’re diving into SAP Build Apps and SAP Build Work Zone innovations. Testing is a huge (and sometimes overlooked) part of the development process. We have good news for business users building their applications on SAP Business Technology Platform! We know that developers usually use sample data to test their apps while programming. Now you can do the same... without the programing part!
You can build your low-code applications using SAP Build Apps, drag and drop your UI and logic components, and now use sample data to test if everything is working as you expected.
The best part? You don’t have to wait for real data or risk using sensitive data when testing.
You can also say hello to the new data import feature for your backend entities. It does the heavy lifting for you while importing data from a MS Excel file, so you don’t have to manually type in every entry.
And you can even use a template!

It empowers users to easily build and design engaging business sites. It increases user productivity by creating a single-entry point to multiple SAP cloud & on-premise systems.
But you probably already knew that! So what’s new? We’re excited to announce a new site experience for SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition based on the Horizon visual theme for SAP Fiori. It offers new design time capabilities targeted to the content administrator. They can now:

With Personalized Recommendation, one of the SAP AI Business Services running on SAP BTP, you can make use of a cloud-based machine learning service that can deliver a unique set of recommendations based on a user’s unique item interaction history and profile.
One of the latest features we introduced is Complementary Recommendations, a way to recommend items that are known to be viewed together in a single session. This is useful for cross and up-selling opportunities in bundle purchases, cart suggestions or even process automation scenarios.
This new functionality comes in addition to the already existing recommendation flavors, such as similar items recommendations and event-driven recommendations.
