NWBC 4.0 New Corbu Design

We are often asked about the relation of NWBC and Floorplan Manager (FPM).

In principle FPM is a browser-agnostic framework. However it fits perfectly together with NWBC.

Without NWBC your workplace quickly becomes cluttered and the right information is hard to find:

With NWBC you have one single point of access to all your SAP Business application including FPM:

Working Role-Based

With NWBC you have the possibility to work role-based (using the portal or directly using PFCG roles).

With EhP6 we have more than 1400 FPM applications.

Using roles combined with FPM applications you can create special work centers for your end users. You can assign these FPM applications to a role once, sort your authorizations once and then assign this role to many users.

That means for example you can create a Sales Role which particularly enables end users to work with only the FPM applications and transactions they really need, and for which they are authorized.

So you have the perfect entry point for a sales person to start his or her daily work.

Roles make end users and administrators more efficient.

SAP defines roles; you apply them and make your end users more efficient.

FPM and Web Dynpro ABAP

FPM based on Web Dynpro ABAP is the Business Suite UI framework for easy, efficient and highly-configurable application development and adaptation.

For more information see:  Floorplan Manager for Web Dynpro ABAP (SCN Space)

FPM and Visual Design

The visual design of Floorplan Manager applications is based on the SAP UI Guidelines for Business Suite and so is the new Corbu theme – the new visual  identity for the SAP Business Suite available with NWBC 4.0.

The fresh, modern, unique visual identity for SAP Business Suite has been designed for interaction patterns based on the UI 2.0 standard. The design is intentionally neutral to blend with a variety of legacy content.

For more information see: User Experience Community

And the theme is adaptable. With the NWBC 4.0 desktop version, Users can customize the appearance of the shell by switching the theme in the personal settings. Users can select either a dark or light flavor, which only affects the header area.
