My name is Saikat Pal & I am a Manager in Data & Analytics practice of PwC India over 14+ years of experience in SAP Datasphere, SAP BTP HANA Cloud, SAP BTP CAPM, SAP BW4HANA, S4 HANA Embedded Analytics with CDS technology. I have exposure in techno-functional consulting in Material Management, Purchasing, Sales & Distribution, Customer Relationship  Management ( CRM ), Supply Chain Management ( SCM ) from Steel Making Industry, Pharma, Petrochemical, Cement, Solar etc.

Introduction:

After reading this article you will be able to establish a connection between SAP S4HANA Public Cloud with SAP Datasphere Public Cloud

Benefits:

      You will be able to replicate data from S4HANA Public Cloud to SAP Datasphere Public Cloud

Pre-requisites:

S4HANA Public Cloud user should have access to Maintain Communication UsersCommunication Systems,Communication Arrangements app.

Steps for Configuration:
     

  • Log In to S4 HANA Public Cloud Tenant. Go to My Space

  • Search and select the “Maintain Communication Users” app​ from S4HANA Public Cloud

  • "Maintain Communication Users " app will open in S4HANA Public Cloud. Then click on New Button to create New User.

  • Put the User Name “YY1_USR_DS

  • Put the User Name, Description, and Password as shown below and click “Create”​Step5.png
  • Once Communication User is created, a CC* User ID will be generated​

  • Search and select the “Communication Systems” app and click on “New”​ to create new Communication System.

  • Give the System ID created earlier and the Host Name as "DWC"

  • Scroll down further and add User for Inbound Connection:​

  • Search the user that you have created earlier

  • Search and select the “Communication Arrangements” app and click “New”​

  • A pop-up box will appear with the following details

  • In the scenario, search for SAP_COMM_0532 and select it. Once selected give the Communication System which was created​

  • Once the Communication System is selected, scroll down for Authorization Group ID and select SAP_DPS_ALL​

  • Scroll down and identify the Inbound Communication and the Inbound Services. Review your inputs and click save.​

  • Now Log in to DataspherePlatform and click on Space Management -> Connections -> Go To Connections​

  • Select the Business Name and edit. Give the User Name and Password of Communication User and save​

  • Select the Business Name and validate. Please note that remote table was disabled as Data Provisioning Agent(DP Agent) was not installed at that time.

  • Now click on Data Builder -> New Data Flow​

  • Click on Sources from the Repository-Source option & you will be able to see S4HANA Cloud conneciton that you have created

Note: In this article Data Flow scenario is considered. You can also select Communication scenario SAP_COMM_0531 to replicate data via remote table.
