Hi Experts,

Please answer my general queries on SAP e-sourcing system.

1) Is it an ABAP (or) JAVA stack?

2) what are all the different applications available in e-sourcing and their URL's.

3) e-sourcing admin activities and guides for the same.

4) e-sourcing pre and post steps..

5) Is it a part of SRM system

6) what is the difference between e-sourcing and CLM.

I would appreciate all your inputs..

Thanks in advance

Daniel,

A good place to start is the SAP PAM (product availability matrix), there you will find all your answers and links to the documentation. You will probably need an account for this.

to answer already some questions:

1. Java stack

2. SAP Sourcing consists of projects module, RFx, Auctions, CLM. The URL's are dependent on the installation as it is build up with the hostname.

3. See documentation on the help portal or via SAP PAM.

4. See documentation on the help portal or via SAP PAM.

5. No, although SRM also has some capabilities in this area.

6. e-Sourcing is a generic term used to describe all electronic sourcing activities. The application is SAP Sourcing. The difference is that sourcing is about sourcing products or services. CLM is Contract LifeCycle Management which is about authoring (building up contracts), maintaining it and monitoring it (e.g. expiration date, penalties, etc...). With SAP Sourcing you could have different licenses e.g. The full suite (including projects, rfx, auctions and clm) or a separate license for CLM only.

You also have another product from SAP which is SAP Ariba and this is Cloud based whereas SAP Sourcing (which contains CLM) is on-premise.

Hey daniel

1) Is it an ABAP (or) JAVA stack?

It is JAVA

2) what are all the different applications available in e-sourcing and their URL's.

Read this blog

https://blogs.sap.com/2009/02/02/sap-e-sourcing-integration-to-erp-and-srm/

3) e-sourcing admin activities and guides for the same.

most of the document seems outdated last version I could find was back in 2009 CLM2.0

1302332 - SAP E-Sourcing 5.1/SAP CLM 2.0 SP04 Release Note

It would be good if you specify what version you are looking for ?

Check most of the documents here;

https://www.sap.com/australia/products/sourcing-contract-lifecycle-management.html

4) e-sourcing pre and post steps..

5) Is it a part of SRM system

It is not part of SRM it is an external system which can be linked to both SRM and ECC

https://blogs.sap.com/2009/02/02/sap-e-sourcing-integration-to-erp-and-srm/

6) what is the difference between e-sourcing and CLM.

Exactly what Erik said

E sourcing is a broader term and CLM is part of Procure to pay process which you can do using different SAP products like

SRM , ECC, Ariba, Sourcing

Hope that clarifies.

Regards

Vinita
