Need somewhere to display your skills and talents? Seeking major professional development and career opportunities? Ready to move far in life? STOMPP (Skills Talents Opportunities and Movement through Project Propel) is the organization for you!! Project Propel is an Elite Initiative for HBCU’s to provide knowledge, train faculty, and empower students.

Founded in the fall of 2015 in the College of Business (COB) at Delaware State University, as the Center of Excellence, Project Propel now provides all of that and more! Spearheaded by the COB, and supported by SAP and ASUG, Project Propel is on a mission to provide the students of Delaware State University with the opportunity to participate in a multitude of on and off-campus activities and events. These activities have been put in place to increase their knowledge, skills, and understanding of SAP and its relevance in the workforce. STOMPP, in conjunction with Project Propel, is a student organization that provides the transferable skills and knowledge necessary as students’ transition into business professionals.

In this first year of STOMPP’s arrival at DSU, the organization has provided students with an abundance of training, workshops, trips and speakers. The training and workshops include: Design Thinking Methodology, focusing on a more collaborative approach to problem solving; Big Data and Analytics through SAP Lumira, teaching students how to manipulate big data; and lastly the ERPsim Lab, providing real life experiences of enterprise resource planning through various simulation games.

STOMPP hosts an outstanding speaker series featuring executives and professionals from SAP and the SAP ecosystem to engage with DSU students. Past speakers include: Ward Bullard, SAP - VP of Product Management; Tariea Clark of DuPont; June Huynh, SAP Sr. Learning and Developing Consultant in HR; Vanessa Smith, SAP Chief of Staff to CEO Bill McDermott; Jewell Parkinson, Head of HR for SAP NA; Paul McConnell, Property Management Executive and Developer of 1313 Innovation Space in Wilmington; and Kuran Williams, SAP Manager of Operational Success for General Business. Along with STOMPP's speaker series, monthly meetings are held to inform students of new things happening within the organization and SAP, such as, a new prototype tool called Build, and other developments that may be of interest and benefit.

There are currently over 200 STOMPPers in more than 20 majors at Delaware State University. In just two semesters STOMPP has become one of the fastest growing organizations within the College of Business and we do not plan to stop our movement. We have just begun to STOMPP the yard!
