Hello
We have created the default NOTRELEVANT Grant now in table GMGRANTNONE.
Postings still come to GM with this NOTRELEVANT Grant. Is this normal or is there something missing in our configuration?
If the value type on the postings is real according to GM posting rules, will we need to set up an exclusion in AVC for NOTRELEVANT Grant?
Thank you.

Hello Aleksey,
This is normal. All postings will go to GM either to the NOTRELEVANT grant or a real grant. You must exclude NOTRELEVANT in reporting and AVC.
Thanks
Shyam

Thank you Shyam for your reply.
I am trying to understand AVC derivation strategy and have trouble seeing how to exclude the Grant from processing. Can you give any advice what kind of rule I should create to do this?

Aleksey

Aleksey,
In GM the Not Relevant grant is already excluded from AVC checks.
Thanks
Shyam

Hi
Yes, the Nonrelevant Grant is excluded from AVC.
But it seems strange that we still need a Class & Program for this Nonrelevant Grant (we created a dummy Class and Program for it).
Why should Nonrelevant Grant need these. Is this also normal? The customer thinks it is wrong that the Nonrelevant Grant appears in GM reporting.
Thanks,

Aleksey,
Yes the Sponsored Class and Sponsored Program are required in the GM ledger. This is a control feature as this ensures that the account assignment in GMIT and GMIA is complete. Unfortunately this means you have to exclude not relevant postings in reporting.
Thanks
Shyam
