Hello SAP DM Community,
Our digital manufacturing team is currently working on various planning scenarios to combine the advantages of SAP DM with the planning functions of S/4HANA in the best possible way.
We have realised that if we implement detailed planning in S/4HANA and keep the level of detail high, the advantages on the DM side are lost in detailed planning and the flexible switching back and forth between similar work centres. This is due to the fact that we cannot change the production version and therefore the routing for an order that we have already released and sent to DM.
It is therefore no longer possible to switch to another similar work centre in REO at short notice, as the master data only knows one work centre that we have specified in the initial production version and we can no longer switch to an alternative production version after release.
From our point of view, the level of detail also decreases if we want to be very flexible on the DM side and want to switch between similar resources/work centres in REO, as we then have to work with pool capacities on the S/4HANA side.
We would be happy to discuss how you deal with this issue.
