Snapshot and restore in SAP Subscription Billing

Hi Community,

SAP Commerce Cloud ccv2 has a "snapshot and restore" feature to take data from production to a non-production environment so that you can safely reproduce the issue.

https://help.sap.com/viewer/0fa6bcf4736c46f78c248512391eb467/v2011/en-US/f777fc0a4c524e7aa20d84fc8a5...

According to the documentation, "Snapshots are time-stamped records of your database, media storage, and deployed application. If a problem occurs, you can use the restore function to return your environment and deployment to the state recorded by a specific snapshot."

Is there a plan to support this in the SAP Cloud Platform or in SAP Subscription Billing?

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for the question. The overall requirement to create test data based on productive set-ups is very reasonable and a known one.

You may always check the official SAP Subscription Billing roadmap:
Unfortunately, there’s no innovation officially published for this, even though we’re thinking about how to offer more features in to this direction.

For the business configuration export and import APIs exist, that should make it easy to at least synchronise the business configuration.

The current option for the remaining business entities would be to built something on top of the APIs, which likely limits you to transfer certain cases only, e.g. a certain set of products, rate plan templates and rate plans.

Best regards

Thank you Stefan, looking forward to it joining the roadmap. Unfortunately just the configuration is not enough at this time, although those APIs are helpful, especially for setting up a new Subscription Billing environment.
