Upgrade in SAP ERP 6.0

Hello Experts,

In the case of ECC ,CRM,SCM etc upgrade ......we generally download the CDS of ERP ,SCM......from service market place.............

So what about netweaver here....................does it upgrade autmatically with these componenet........

And vice versa.......If we upgrade only netweaver in ECC 6.0 system......then only netweaver will be upgraded ......and ECC .SCM,HCM (like all other business component).

which all basd on neweaver) will reamin on the same release.

Kindly assist...........

Note:As we all know now the technical stack is NEtweaver for most of the application.

and right up on the netweaver there is relevant business aplication like --ECC,CRM,SCM etc.

Hi,

I will try to explain you this with an example. Say for example you are on ECC 6, that means your kernel is netweaver 700. If you want to upgrade to EHP4, then your target kernel release will be 701. When you download media for upgrade of ECC system, you will have to download Netweaver kernel as well apart from media for upgrade master, ERP export etc.

When you start upgrade of ECC, during that procedure only your netweaver will be upgraded to EHP1, you just have to give kernel dvds.

However if you have any java stack systems such as BI/EP etc, you will have to uograde them too.
