Requirement: To receive Multiple Quality Certificate per PO line item for Serial managed materials.

Based on legal requirements when we receive components from Supplier we need to get more than 1 certificate. These materials are Serial Managed. Meaning if the PO Qty is 2 and we need 3 different certificates (CER1, CER2 and CER3). We need to have receive 6 certificates (3 certificates per Serial number). Business want to track if we have received the mandatory certificates per serial number and only after we receive all the certificate system should allow us to do the GR against Purchase order. We also want to track the expected date of receipt of non mandatory certificates and track the actual receipt.

Let’s say we have procured materials PR0001, PR0002, PR0003 … and so no. Then the certificate requirements

per material are as below.

  • We want to track if we have received the certificates per serial number.
  • Only after we receive all the mandatory certificates system should allow us to do the GR against Purchase order.
  • We also wants to capture the expected date of receipt for each material per serial number and track the receipt against that.

Can we achieve this without development. We are exploring the source inspection way. But there are some challenges are we cannot capture the date of receipt and have GR block control based on mandatory certificate.

Hi Ankush,

This is not possible in the Std SAP design. As a workaround you can say the business that they need to mention the certificate required in the description of the certificate type and if any is missing don't post the GR or whatever it may be as your business discussion.

Thanks and Regards,
