Is there a way to remove the assignment between superior and sub-order?
It appears that once a sub order is assignment then it can't be removed,
I just wanted to check this with sap community to see if there is any other way.

You are right, I think there is no way to de-assign a sub order from superior order.
Indeed, it is not possible to de-assign a sub-order or to assign it to another order.
Better use follow-up orders (EHP7) or assign different technical objects to different operations.
