Project reservations for materials and services (without network)

Hi,

We are currently engaged in a engineering & project implementation and we really a possibility to plan/assign materials and services to a project. Since networks and tasks do not exist any more we can only use WBS elements. We know that you can create purchase requisitions and purchase orders but where can we:

* assign materials & services --> can we create a manual reservation on a WBS as work around?

is there another solution of something on the roadmap?

this is really a big gap for the project

Hi Eric,

Although quite a few months have passed since this question has been posted, it might be interesting for you to know that the procurement of lean services and non-stock materials is currently planned on our long-term roadmap for the second half of 2020, while the procurement of stock material driven out of projects is rather planned for 2021.

However, please note that these timelines are part of our strategic direction/long term roadmap only and, therefore, subject to changes.

Nothing new as far as I'm aware of.

Please take a look at the product roadmap for official communications regarding planned functionalities. Detailed information on new functionalities will be made available near their official release.

Danielle, i am not able to create these ideas on the influence portal it seems. We have forwarded this idea as a customer request but it was rejected by SAP and there is nothing on the roadmap regarding this topic.

Hi Eric,

We have the same issue in our project. We haven't seen any functionality that covers this requirement on S/4HANA Cloud, and it doesn't seem to be included on the Roadmap for the following upgrades.

We were thinking of managing the materials needed in the project directly from purchase requisitions, but Project Stock should be activated in order to make material reservations. Have you found out anything to cover these requirements?

We are thinking of using sales orders (free of charge - no billing) with dummy customer and assigned to WBS to reserve and consume materials on a project ....
