Hi All,
I am trying to create a distribution cycle & the system is prompting me for a transport. In the development client when I try to do it (through KSV1) it says I am not authorised. I have authorisation for creating master data in all clients. I am not able to uderstand why it is asking for a transport?
Any pointers would help.
Thanks,
Lakshmi

Hello Lakshmi,
Restrictions which are required in a production environment are
are set via transactions SCC4 and SE03.
Generally, - in productive environments - a view should be created via
Transaction SE54 for tables whose data must be maintained. Data
maintenance is then carried out via Transaction SM30.
in a view there is 'Current Setting' check box.
if "Current setting" marked.
it can be modified even in PRD system and SCC4 is
"NOT MODIFIABLE".
'Current Setting' is very useful function for those objects you need
to change it frequently in PRD system, like "exchange rate" for example
If you need to adjust the daily exchange rate,it is very complex if you
change it from DEV and transport to QAS, then PRD. Sometimes, it is
also not necessary at all.
Please check following notes carefully for further understanding.
356483 Customizing: Current settings in the test system
135028 Transfer IMG activity to current setting
I hope this clarifies the system functionality.
regards
Ray
