MN05 Message determination

Hello,

We are using MN05 message determination with the following key combination:

Doc.Type/Purch.Org/Vendor

Before, the transmission medium was "1: print output"

Then, in MN05 we changed the transmission medium to "5:external send" for our future POs, not for actual POs already printed and sent by post.

However, if we change actual POs (for ex, update item texts), the transmission medium is automatically changed to 5, causing the sending of PO forms (we are using an automate)

However, we dont want our actual POs to be automatically changed from 1 to 5 (we want to avoid the change of transmission medium when we change a PO). Is it possible?

Thank you for your help.

Hi all

Thank you all for your help

The main problem is that current POs that are already printed (transmission medium 1:print printout) still have a message on status "not processed". Therefore, "not processed" messages are updated with the data from MN05 tcode (transmission medium 5: external send)

The consequence is that suppliers receive PO forms twice : once by the post and once by email.

We have decided to mass update current POs to status "successfully processed", so that they will not be impacted by changes made in MN05 tcode.

Thank you.

Hi,

When condition record maintained for PO output in t.code:MN04 with Dispatch Time & Transmission Medium, then it will be automatically default in PO creation/change ( as it set in fine tuned of output type for 1 & 2)

Now as you needed during PO creation/change, you need to enter manually Transmission Medium & set in following path:

SPRO>MM>Purchasing>Message>Output control>Message types> Define message type for Purchase Order--> Maintain Message Types for PO,

Double click your PO output type and in General data TAB, do not select check box u201CAccess to conditionsu201D & save. Also set dispatch time & Transmission Medium and save.

Now during PO creation OR PO changes, enter PO output type and then enter Transmission Medium & save.

Hi,

We can always have the option of setting up the new messages depending up on the requirements but however re triggering of the messages and sending it to the supplier always depends on the change relavent fields set in the configuration.

When we already have PO created and sent a PO print out to the supplier after that you have decided to set up a e-mail functionali ty to that supplier and maintained the condition records.

Now if we do some change in the PO, if this change is relavent for re triggering the out put, then system send the information to the supplier via e-mail.

Because this change is a print relavent.

So it always depend the Fields relevant to printouts of changes.

Please check for the fields in your system using the below path..

SPRO-->Materials Management --> Purchaisng -->Messages --> Fields relevant to printouts of changes.

then check if your field is there or not.

I hope this information will help you to solve your issue.

Thanks,

Satya.

Goto MN05 enter your output type and select the desired key and enter your parameters and then change the Date/Time to "3-Send with application own transaction" so that when ever if there is change also the output is not triggered automatically to vendor untill it is outputed with option "4".

Hi,

Don't maintain codition records with transmission medium 5. Whenever you want with transmission medium 5, you create a condition record in MN04 with this 5. Hence automatic adoption can be avoided. Thanking you.

you dont change existing message records in old POs. with any change you create new message records to your PO, and they pull the current settings from condition records.

I really wonder why it is a problem, to submit a change with medium 5 for an order that was created yesterday but changed today, while you would anyway use 5 for messages in order created today, and changes made to these new orders after today.
