Meas doc creation allows points for items not related to Notif Tech OBj

While maintaining a notification for a tech object, users are going to Extras/Measurement Docs.

They then enter a measurement point. The MP entered is not related to the Tech Object on the notification.

Is this proper behavior? Do we need to find a note (I have not found one) or use a badi to enforce Meas Points belong to the notification being maintained?

Hello Scott,
The behavior of your SAP system is totally fine.
This is how the standard works.

From functional understanding its like:
People creating a notification (example - maintenance request) for specific asset, can take the readings of this particular equipment, 
and of the others, which are for example in the proximity. 

From pure SAP perspective:
In the screen, which you describe, there is also a button 'All measuring points on Object'. 
Once clicked, only the MPs assigned to this equipment will be visible.

As far my understanding goes -you have to enforce the use of measurement points belonging to FL or Equipment in the notification using the BADI only -- but make sure to perform negative testing thoroughly for entry list or individual measurement point entry as well.
