Material and Material Description

Hello All,

I have two characteristics. Please see my scenario below and request your inputs on this.

As soon as a material number is entered in the configurator, the other characteristic should get the description of that material from the table. Please let me know if this can be achieved through a reference characteristic.

Yes this can be achieve.

Create one characteristics and give reference to of table and field name (VBAP - ARKTX)

just assign this Cstics in class. Nothing to do more then this. This will copy the value of required value from sales order screen.

I am not talking about reading the description from the material in the line item.

Hi Adithya,

I don't think you can use a reference characteristic for MAKT-MAKTX.

Instead, you can hopefully use a standard characteristic that will infer the material description via a variant function and an object dependency (procedure).
