IT0105 - Communications - Applicant personal email id

Hello,

Please need help, when we run "Initial Entry of Basic Data" email id of that applicant will get saved automatically in IT0105 and subtype 0010. But when we hire applicant as employee then we cannot use same subtype 0010 for saving personal email id. We use 0010 subtype for saving official email id of that employee. Is this right way of maintaining email ids ? Applicant has personal id but when it comes to employee same sub type used for saving official email id.

Kindly help us to understand this difference.

Hi Naresh,

Subtype 0010 is for "Work E-mail." What you're looking for is subtype 0030, "Private E-Mail Address." If you need to keep a record in infotype 0105 of employees' personal email addresses (and I can conceive of reasons for this, though we don't do it here), this is the subtype you're looking for.

We actually did create a custom subtype Z008 for "Personal E-mail" though I'm not sure why we did that when there's a delivered one that seems to fit the bill. Again, though, we don't use it, or at least not very much.

Is there a reason you still want/need their "personal" email once they are assigned a company email ID? Is the company email not the one you will be using from there onward?
