ESS is this standard behaviour (ESS Webdynpro)

When editing an ESS record using the new WEB Dynpro services i.e. bank. If the screen is in the edit stage when pushing the EXIT button the current screen does not prompt to close but instead a new browser window is opened with the ESS homepage. This results in two browser windows with the first one still in edit mode and employee still locked. Is this normal behaviour for ERP 2004 / ERP 2005 ? In practive this could be very confusing for users.
