Hi Gurus,
Im having a hard time to change the batch class of the existing batch as it is greyed out in MSC2N. Is there any way we can change this?
we need to change the batch classification of the batch because it is different from the batch classification of the Material.
exisiting batch classification should be the same with the batch class maintained in the Material.
Thank you,
Sylvia
Hi Sylvia,
Batch class is derived from material master when the batch is created in SAP. This is not set in MSC1N or MSC2N. If the batch class at present is different from one in material master, that means when the batch was created the batch displayed in the MSC2N at present was the active batch class in material master.
If at all you want to change the batch class for upcoming batches of this material, then change the class in material master.
You may still be able to change the batch class in MSC2N, but the impact would be there. You need to evaluate the impacts or check with SAP Note, as you may end up in inconsistency in classification data error. You can test in your SAP environment, in case you still want to proceed, then you can delete the existing classification in MSC2N, then change the class in material master and in MSC2N click on create class and it helps.

Sharat

Hello,
You can use the report ZVBRECLB from SAP note 78235 to reclassified the existing batches.
78235 - Revaluation of object characteristics in batch classification
