Intro
Let us have a brief about the SOP. Reference Blog
Demands in MD61 are considered while running MRP. Then why we need to maintain demands in SOP or RCP?
SOP or RCP are similar and it is just a excel sheet in SAP where the sales and production team will give there demands and capacity respectively. Later these demand will be consolidated and transferred from SOP (excel table) to MD61 table in proportional manner.
So this is just an alternate method of filling the PIR in SAP. But instead of directly maintaining the demand in MD61, we are using SOP sheet as preliminary requirement report to collect the data and then transfer it to actual demand.
In PIR screen you might have seen these options to fill the demands. These options are used to copy the requirements from SOP or RCP
1. Forecasting - Demand which you generated in MP30 - Not an SOP
2. Sales plan & Production plan - (Standard SOP for Material) - MC95
3. Sales plan proportional PG & Production plan proport PG - (Standard SOP for product group) - MC94
4. Copy flexible planning - (Flexible planning) - MC95
Difference between the SOP types
You can see both the values from MP30 and MD61 screen are same. you can select the demand and transfer it to PIR
Here you can see the input parameters are product group and the plant.
MD61 screen
Here you can see the sales plan values from MC94 and MD61 are same.
Here you can see the production plan values from MC94 and MD61 are same.
Here we can only transfer the data directly from MC95 to MD61.
Conclusion:
I hope you got some idea on SOP and RCP. Also have a look on to link
