Product recommendation based on Smart insight

We need help to understand if it is possible to use recommendation logic based on Smart Insight, or if recommendation logic is just for prediction.

Currently the Web Recommender and Email Recommender are fed with data from Predict only. This is explained at their respective SAP Emarsys Help pages below:
