Host unknown exception while integrating facebook with SAP

Dear Experts,

I am trying to integrate Facebook with CRM system(EHP3). I started with a simple use case of reading posts of a FB user in SAP.

I implemented both notes 1832462 and 1832481. But whenever I make a call to graph.facebook.com inside my Z class using the method  cl_http_client=>create_by_url,it always returns ICM_HTTP_HOST_UNKNOWN exception.Proxy server is not configured in my system. Do we need to enable it for accessing facebook data?

I tested other URLs also by calling them through create_by_url method, but this method is returning same exception for all.
