Note: The self-study portion of the digital skills initiative is coming to an end.

  • Application texts can be submitted here until November 4, 2024.
  • Your learning must be completed by December 1, 2024, and a screenshot of completion together with your SAP Community username must be submitted to digitalskills@sap.com by this day at the latest.
  • We will process your request and send you your redemption code by December 20, 2024 at the latest.
  • You must redeem your code in the training shop by December 31, 2024, but can schedule your exam for any date in the following 12 months  (December 31, 2025 at the latest.)

Hello there and thank you for your interest in the digital skills initiative by SAP Learning!

The digital skills initiative is intended to help those who are generally considered to be underrepresented in the technology industry get a kick start in their careers within the SAP Ecosystem.

The definition of people considered to be underrepresented in the technology industry varies by geographic location. However, we can provide the following guideline to help you understand the sort of people we are looking to support with this initiative:

    • Military veterans and their spouses, family and caregivers
    • Women
    • Single parents
    • People who are physically disabled or neurodivergent
    • People in remote or underserved locations that may be not have access to the same economic opportunities as their urban or more privileged counterparts
    • Minorities who may not have equal opportunity in their geographic location
    • First generation college students
    • People looking to switch their careers mid-life
    • People who lack the financial means to afford a certification attempt for themselves

If you identify as a person in one or several of these categories, the digital skills initiative might be for you. The final prerequisite is a willingness to learn more about SAP and to undergo the rigors of studying for SAP Certification.

Here are the next steps on how to proceed:

Step 1 – Create an SAP Account

You will need an SAP account to track your studies and take a certification exam. Watch the demo in this blog for help on how to do that. Please use the same email address that you intend on registering with the digital skills initiative.

Also be sure to join the beginner corner as demonstrated in the demo – this is how you can reach out and ask questions.

Step 2 - Let us know you are interested

Either leave a comment below or start a discussion in the beginner corner stating a clear interest in participating in the digital skills initiative. Feel free to include a bit about yourself like academic / professional background and why you feel you are a good fit to the program. We will send you a registration link to the initiative via direct message. Please ensure private messaging is enabled on your profile.

Another key reason for this step is if you need help with part of a learning journey that you selected (in step 4 below), you can come back here (the beginner corner) to ask for help.

Step 3 – Make sure you have context

We have a long blog available attempting to explain the whole "learning SAP" process from beginning to certification. Take from it what you need to ensure getting certified in SAP is worth the effort to you.

Step 4 - Begin studying

Pick a learning journey that best fits your interests which also leads to a certification. Any learning journey and any exam is covered by this program. Study it to completion, then send a screenshot of the completion & your SAP Community username to digitalskills@sap.com  before 1 December 2024.

Here is a guide on how to determine if your learning journey is free of charge.

Step 5 – Receiving your certification attempt

After your learning journey completion is sent to digitalskills@sap.com, please give us some time to process your request. You will receive a redemption code for your SAP certification attempt as soon as we can get one to you.

Please redeem the code ASAP when you receive it. You can schedule the actual exam up to six month after redemption.

Step 6 - Schedule your exam

Check out our blog on how to schedule your SAP Certification exam.

Step 7 - Explore Career Options

Check out the career corner

Here is a guide on how to approach networking within the SAP Community & Ecosystem

We wish you the best of luck in your learning journey! Leave a comment below if you have any questions.

David

Dear Sir or Madam,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Truc Tran, and I am a dedicated student from Vietnam who is keenly interested in enhancing my skills and knowledge within the technology industry. I recently completed the course "Discovering End-to-End Business Processes for the Intelligent Enterprise" and earned the Record of Achievement. This accomplishment has inspired me to further explore opportunities within the SAP Ecosystem.

As a student living in a remote location in Vietnam, I believe that access to economic opportunities and resources can sometimes be limited compared to more urban areas. I am enthusiastic about pursuing a career in technology and becoming proficient in SAP solutions. The initiative's focus on underrepresented groups, such as those from underserved areas, people with disabilities, and first-generation college students, deeply resonates with me.

I would like to express my sincere interest in participating in the SAP Digital Skills Initiative and kindly request to receive a free certification attempt. This opportunity would not only contribute to my personal growth but also empower me to contribute effectively to the technology sector.

I understand the prerequisites for the initiative, including the willingness to learn more about SAP and the commitment to studying for SAP Certification. I assure you that I am dedicated to putting in the effort required to excel in this endeavor.

I am aware that this initiative may not be applicable to SAP professionals within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. I would like to confirm that I am not an existing SAP professional within MENA, but rather an eager newcomer from Vietnam.

In line with your requirements, I would like to inform you that I identify as female, which aligns with the underrepresented groups you are targeting through this initiative.

I have completed the course "Discovering End-to-End Business Processes for the Intelligent Enterprise" and received the Record of Achievement. Please find the attached Record of Achievement for your reference.

I kindly request guidance on the next steps to proceed with signing up for the initiative and receiving the certification voucher. If additional information or documentation is needed from my end, please let me know, and I will promptly provide it.

Thank you for considering my request. I look forward to the opportunity to further my skills through the SAP Digital Skills Initiative. Your support would mean a great deal to me as I embark on this journey.

Best regards,

I identify as a person in the below categories:

    • Women
    • People looking to switch their careers mid-life

I am pursuing a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Analysis and Process Management at Sheridan College in Mississauga, Ontario, from January 2023 to the present. Throughout this program, I have gained specialized knowledge in various aspects of business operations. I have developed skills in implementing strategies to optimize inventory, streamline supply chain processes, and utilize methodologies such as FIFO, LIFO, JIT, and Kanban to enhance operational efficiency.

Furthermore, I have acquired proficiency in strategic planning, forecasting, and Sales & Operations Planning (SNOP) within both B2B and B2C contexts. This indicates my ability to contribute to the alignment of business goals and operational strategies, ensuring a seamless connection between various departments and functions.

Prior to my current program, I completed a Master of Science degree in mathematics at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, India, from August 2017 to April 2019. This academic background in mathematics provided me with a strong analytical foundation, which is valuable in my pursuit of business analysis and process management.

My educational journey highlights a transition from a mathematical background to a focused exploration of business analysis, process management, and supply chain optimization, showcasing a well-rounded skill set that combines quantitative prowess with practical business insights.

Eagerly anticipating this initiative, I am enthusiastic about enhancing my learning curve through this program.

Hi @David_Chaviano ,

First of all, I am happy that SAP is offering this great initiative for us who have been wanted to become fully immersed in SAP Technologies. Just to start with, I've been in the automation industry for quite sometime now and last year, I have learned that SAP offers a great tool for Automation, he Intelligent Robotics Process Automation ( this is what they called it before) and now its SAP Build Process Automation.

arroyoweisson_0-1692246223510.png

I managed to gain some a bit of experience as a consultant in this space but as we knew, SAP has been expanding and improving their tech from time to time. As a learner, my goal is to keep up with the fast phase technology build up in this space, at least showcase a bit of expertise through the help of forums, groups and communities, able to share learning experiences and best practices and lastly through this beginner journey I would be able to secure certifications from SAP particularly on SAP_LCNC_02 or related courses for SAP Build that will validate my skills.

I am really eager and looking forward to be part of this great opportunity! Hoping for your consideration.

Thank you so much!

Hello @David_Chaviano,

My name is Yusuf Buhari and I am writing to express my interest in the digital skills initiative. I am a resident of the Northern part of Nigeria, which is considered to be one of the poorest and most underserved regions in the country. The unemployment rate here is very high and many businesses have been displaced by insurgency and banditry. As a result, I have had limited opportunities to learn digital skills and pursue a career in the technology industry.

I believe that the digital skills initiative would be a valuable opportunity for me to gain the skills and knowledge I need to succeed in this field. I am a hard worker and I am eager to learn.

I would like to be considered for the digital skills initiative because I belong to two of the categories you mentioned:

I am a person in a remote or underserved location that may not have access to the same economic opportunities as my urban or more privileged counterparts.
I am a minority who may not have equal opportunity in my geographic location.

I believe that the digital skills initiative would help me to overcome these challenges and achieve my goals. I am excited about the opportunity to learn new skills and contribute to the technology industry.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
