Hi,
I want to run a workflow as a result of an import.
I connected the workflow in the configuration of the import manager and the workflow starts OK when I import records using the import manager. I have 2 problems with the process:
1. The workflow checks out the records, but at the end of it the records are not checked in (when I run the workflow manually it does check them in).
2. When I stand on the workflow in the data manager I expect to see only the new records that I imported connected to the workflow while actually I see the whole repository.
Thanks,
Tal
Hi Tal,
Before we proceed further, i would like to confirm few things from your configurations of workflow....
1. In the workflow record detail under Trigger Action property make sure you have choose 'Record Import' value only....
2. In the workflow design under start process property 'CheckOut Records' should have the value 'NO'
3. Make sure while importing records it shows up that its going to Trigger the workflow...
hope this cross-check will solve your problem,
please feel free to revert to me for further clarifications...
thanks
Alexander

Hi,
Thanks for your quick respond.
I did what you said, but now the records are not checked out, and that is important to me that they are checked out until they are approved manually. In addition I still have the second problem that is - When I select the workflow in the Data Manager I see all the records in the repository and not only the ones that were imported.
Thanks again,
Tal
Hi Tal,
If you want them check Out intiallu choose Yes value to the corresponding property as I mentioned in the previous post, later at end of the workflow in the STOP action you can set back the records into Check-In. This you can perform under the 'Records Checkout' property.
for the second issue... there are some possibilities... kindly make sure ...
1. Except you, nobody should import the records.... becaz it shows that too as part of ur workflow....
hope this helps you to fix ...
thanks
Alexander

Hi,
Thanks again for your reply.
Regarding the check out / check in - that is exactly what I defined, and what happened was that they were checked out after import but they did not check in when I completed the workflow.
Regarding the second point, I am the only one importing, and for some unknown reason all the records in the repository are attached to the workflow.
Do you have any other ideas that I might try?
Thanks,
Tal
