User specific variable in IP

Hi,

Can any one help me as to how I create a user specific variable for IP users. I have a Bex variable in an input query and I want to restrict users to certain charactersitic values. I am just not sure how to get the same results using a Bex query.

Hi,

The BEX variable is for business units.

Where would I set up the authorisatiins for that variable. Being BW auths, I want to restrict certain users to certain business units?

You should create variable of type authorization and use it for restriction in query filter. That should do good for you.

Hi,

If you are looking at a variable similar to BPS-user specific values... its not available. Either you can populate these values in an Exit variable where the exit will read the current user-id or do this kind of validation in an exit variable in i-step 2.
