We are currently on SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition 2402 and wanted to add a button to the standard Sales Order app (Manage Sales Order App ID F1873) which is a classic app (GUI on HTML). The purpose of adding the button is to call another custom screen for adding few custom fields. We found that the front-end of Classic Apps can be extended by using the Adapt UI option i.e. the SAP Screen Personas. We also came across the following blog which talks about developing Applets which might help us create our custom screens.
But the option of SAPUI5 Applets under Templates in SAP Screen Personas does not seem to be available anymore. Could someone please help us here and let us know if this feature has been sunset? Looking for alternative approaches as well.
The SAPUI5 Applets feature of Personas is exclusive to Slipstream Engine, which is not available in Public Cloud. You can only use it in an on-premise or Private Cloud system.
Unfortunately, in Public Cloud this is not possible either. Using RFCs would be a method to do it, but that feature is also not enabled there. We would need a way to use some enabled APIs for things like that, but this is currently not available.
