SAP PO XML SOAP Receiver - Difference between an empty and not informed for optional XML fields

Hi,

We are implementing an incoming interface with a third part in SAP PO.

We receive an incoming XML in SOAP Adapter, with some fields in SAP PO.

That get's sent to a proxy in our S4 system to do some updates.

The number of fields is very large (over 60), almost all of them optional, and I need to update just the "informed" field in the S4 system.

I don't want to force the calling system to fill all fields, just the ones that need an update, and sometimes the third party needs to send an empty value to be cleared.

My question is: ¿Is there a way to differentiate an informed XML field with spaces or empty, and an XML field that was not even informed in S4 when the proxy calls my class?
