Permissions to create a global variant in SAP Analytics Cloud Story

Hello,

When I try to create a global variant in a prompt of a story using a data model based on a live connection, I am getting an authorization related error.

After doing the following steps:

1. save settings as a new variant

2. i give a name and select the 'Global' option in the type drop down and give a technical name

3. on clicking 'Save' I get the following error:

"You are not authorized to create variant <variant name>" followed by a correlation ID.

Anybody please suggest if any specific permissions are required to create a global variant.

Hi Madhu,

our BW admin modified the system role which is assigned to every user. Before for users it was not possible to read, create, modify or delete variants.

With the object S_RS_PARAM you can activity this rights in the BW role.

I need to check if the same thing applies to our case. As we are using SAP S4 HANA, the admin at this end has to modify the system role (I assume every user has this role already? - correct me here) so that it is possible for all users to read, create, modify, or delete variants in SAP Analytics Cloud?

In our case, we are unable to create global variants and are getting the above error message in SAC.
