Hi ,

HANA calculation view automatically perform aggregation even if aggregation node is not applied.

I want to use BW generated HANA view in another custom view, BUT if we pick only certain column than automatically SUM aggregation applied before applying my own aggregation in the custom view.

Do we have solution for this.

Hi RS,

This is expected behaviour, Let's take an example and try to understand.

Assume BW InfoProvider has below data

Char1 Char2 KF

A C 100

B C 200

If you are using the only Char2 & KF in your view - it will show C - 300. If you want all data, then you should use all columns of the BW InfoProvider. Hope it clarifies, if not please give sample data.

Hi Uma, I understand that its standard behavior but sometime its pain.

Example

We have generated a HANA view for BW ADSO.

By-default it applies sum aggregation at every measure.

now I want to get the max measure value from a group of dimensions through Agg Node.

Now it does not matter I apply rank or max or min or count . Whatever aggregation we applies its does not work because sum agg work before everything.

Now its a system generated view , so changing is not good idea.

Hi Rajender,

Is your ADSO type cube? have you tried keeping a projection for the external view with all fields and next project with limited fields? are you getting the same aggregated behavior? I expect same but just checking.

Another approach, have you tried getting the output using Table Function?

Hi Umashankar, I tried every possible thing.

Projection, ranking , pushed other columns through another node so aggregation node works perfect .

Still its same. I feel this is like a blocker for a kind aggregation we need.

I have many workaround , but as I said they are workaround not the actual solution with existing design.

And mine one is ADSO not cube .

I am hopping that this is like missing information for me and not a loose key in design.
