Authorizations to be given to User, Developer and Power User

Hi..

As of now all the people using BW are given SAP_ALL.

I want to give restrictions by dividing into 3 roles

Role 1. User

Role 2. Developer

Role 3. Power User

Can I use SAP provided authorization templates for this? What is the general practice used in the companies?

If SAP provided templates are used, could u please provide me the templates for each of the 3 roles.

If templates are not suggested and if authorization objects are to be manually assigned to each role, could u please provide me the authorizations objects to be used for each of the 3 roles.

I have a template doc for BW project authorization strategy. It has profiles for sysadmin, query builders and endusers. If you want I can send it to you. Just provide your mail ID.

Thanks Eugene...I rewarded u full points. I see the roles, SysAdmin, Querybuilder and Enduser in ur document.

Do u have any idea about the role for Developer. Is it the same as that of SysAdmin.

Hi Sai,

Among these 3 roles Sysadmin is much closer to a developer. But sysadmin has a wider authorization. You can cut some activities related to db maintenance to get a dev profile.
