"Work process restarted; session terminated" on Web Dynpro Explorer

Hi all,

I've just installed the SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.02 SP6 32-bit Developer Edition on a Windows XP Professional SP3 virtual machine.

While navigating on any WD application, if I go to Component Interface > INTERFACECONTROLLER > Properties, I get a GUI error which says "Work process restarted; session terminated" ([example|http://i.imgur.com/APWxi.jpg]). On ST22 I can see a [SYSTEM_CORE_DUMPED error|http://pastebin.com/QztYVfFf].

I've already read about this problem on [this thread|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1903355], but the answers seem too misleading there.

I don't remember having this issue when I installed the previous trial version on a Windows Server 2008 VM... maybe this doesn't work on Windows XP?

I realize this thread is 4 months old now, but no, I didn't solve it yet. I did a fresh install with the same Netweaver trial and Windows XP versions, and the problem persists. I just try my best to ignore it.

I find it quite amusing how these trial versions have such pesky issues. It is like they don't even test them prior to release.

Another problem I found is that the drag & drop functionality in the View Editor also doesn't work, and this problem is only solved by applying notes. As this is a test system, shouldn't these errors be already corrected? And how do they expect you to correct them without having access to the Support Portal?
