Hello
Do you know what are SAP defaults for PGA and SGA? (e.g in %
of total server memory on a central system)
Is there a difference for 11g and 10g if so which is
Thank you a lot in advance
Jan
Hi Jan,
All information is in note
1431798 - Oracle 11.2.0: Database Parameter Settings |
No change on SGA/PGA size arbitration from 10 to 11
=> PGA:
for OLTP = 20 % of Oracle available memory
for OLAP = 40 % of Oracle available memory
Changed in 11g:
ASMM
Activate Automatic Shared Memory Management - (automatic SGA) -
all components are adjusted automatically at run time,
105047: You can use ASMM, but SAP does not recommend it.
789011: As of Oracle 11g, resize activitities may occur in the SGA, even if this was not configured explicitly.
You can deactivate these resizes if necessary using the parameter _MEMORY_IMM_MODE_WITHOUT_AUTOSGA = FALSE.
New in 11g:
AMM
Automatic Memory Management (dynamically manage both the SGA and PGA) is not recommended (note: 789011)
Best regards
