Override positionCriticality field in SuccessFactors using an integration (BTP) from HCM

Hi Experts,

we are using the field positionCriticality in SuccessFactors Succession. This field is a position data which will update by the standard integration via BTP from HCM. Unfortunately the field gets override every day. Is there a possibility to adjust the integration that the content of the field will not override in SuccessFactors. Is it true, that there is only the following solution possible: 

Create a customer-specific field in SAP HCM, have it maintained there and include it in the “delta migration” of the OM objects

Does anybody see an alternative for this issue?
