BOE XI 3.1 SP3
SAP BW 7.01 SP5
SAP Portal 7.01
Hi,
We are looking to setup BOE server for reporting on top of SAP BW server. So we'll be looking at SSO from SAP to BOE.
1. Our access point will be SAP Portal.
2. We'll initially use Xcelsius only, but using the Xcelsius -> LO -> WebI -> Universe -> BW route to enable offline delivery of dashboards.
3. We are also looking at scheduling WebI reports so might require server side SNC.
I wanted to confirm if there are any limitations on using IIS as the web server for BOE?
Thanks and regards,
Shehryar
Hi,
feel free to post this question also into the general BusinessObjects Enterprise forum. you will need a Java App Server in addition to the IIS because BusinessObjects Enterprise applications are not all native IIS apps.
(example : CMC)

Thanks Ingo.
For CMC, I am looking at using WACS, hence the question on potential limitations on using IIS vs Tomcat as the web server.
From design point of view, Tomcat gives the ability to separate the web tier from application tier which gives more deployment flexibility and better design. However, IIS can potentially reduce the administrative overhead in managing an additional web server and if there are limitations on using it, we'd ideally like to know them beforehand.
If there are any customers who would like to share information about their landscape configuration, it would be great.

Shehryar
