Export Import method using SAPINST

Hi Gurus,

I am having two system setup DEV and QA and i am planning to have onether system (PRD)

I want all the data from the QA system to be copied to a new system PRD

Can I do this using sapinst -> system copy -> export/import method?

Can i can take the export of QA with having <QASID> and import it on PRD system with <PRDSID>?

or export/import is only possible with same SID?

Thanks for all your help.

Actually its not the Prod system it is onether QA standby system.

I will use the import/export method in SAPINST for changing of SID from source to target.

I agree with Sunny, Production should be a fresh install.

Hi,

Its not recommended to make production system from quality system. If you need data then you can transport it or manually upload any master data in production system.

You can use export import method of SAPINST without any problems.
