encrypting the portal url's

Hello,

Using NW04 S09, I have configured the ssl connections as per SAP documentation to access the Portal via https. I would also like to encrypt the actual url that appears in the address location so as to hide iview names and km folders when users access them with direct links. Is this possible? I have been fiddling with server side scripts to do this but was wondering if the WebAs had a native solution.

Regards,

Patrick

Another alternative is to use the DNS with a virtual name pointing to the Portal. Then put an IIS proxy in front of it running SAP's IISProxy.dll.

Doing this, we are able to mask the URLs of the portal. All the user ever sees is:

http://portal.company.com/irj

Thanks Joshua,

The thought of throwing IIS infront of everything did cross my mind, however, thanks for all the detail. As well, for anyone interested, SAP has confirmed that this functionality is not possible with the standard delivery. They also recommend the installation of a proxy server to mask the url.

Patrick

Hi,

what do you mean with "encrypt" the URL? Hiding? Access Control?

Direct access to an iView can be controled via the security zones (if this is what you are looking for).
