China VAT number length (18 characters)

Dear all,

As per Chinese VAT number length which is 18 characters, we have been requested by Tax Department to fit the field STCD1 (current maximum length of 16) to this need.

However, I've not been able to find any kind of SAP note or suggestion about how to overcome this restriction on SAP.

Does anybody know something how to manage  this situation?

Hi OSS,

For long tax number you have STCD5. Search for notes on STCD5.

For example: 1561889 - New tax number in the vendor/customer master data
