Can TDMS be used for Carve-out scenarios?

For SAP spin-off scenario where-in we have to create a new production system that has only date of the spin-off entity. The spin-off entity need not be company code alone, it can be a sales area too. For such a scenario can TDMS be used for creating the new production system.

No, TDMS can't be used to create production system. As mentioned by Sandeep you can use Landscape transformation for your requirement.

Hi,

Best way to create new system landscape for spin-off scenario is to use another SLO product called "Landscape Transformation Software".

• If the spin-off is purely based on company code you can think of using a company code-carve out solution
• For other org. units like business area or sales area it has to conceptualised during the scoping activities.

I was aware of the SAP SLO piece, looking at alternate and trying to evaluate whether TDMS will fit the bill. General consensus is it will not..
