In our BO Production environment (BI Platform 4.3 Support Pack 2 Patch 7) our olap connections for Webi documents are at the BW Infoprovider level (DSO / Cube / Mutlicube). We rationalised the connections some years ago from being at the BW Query level as maintenance and accessing them was easier.
We migrated our development system and this is causing an issue. (BI Platform 4.3 Support Pack 3 Patch 2). Webi documents would refresh once after the upgrade and then fail on the next refresh. Once I changed the olap connected back to the query level - the issue has gone.
Do you use olap connections at query or info provider levels and on what BO version?
