Asssign Work Center in Solution Manager

Hi,

How do I assign Work Centers in Solution Manager. I am basically trying to assign the 'Test Managment' Work center to my User Id.

Hello Varun,

You should add the relevant roles to the user id. You can find out more about this in the SPRO documentation, and in the

Solution Manager security guide at http://service.sap.com/instguides -> Solution Manager -> Solution Manager EHP1 -> Configuration -> security guide.

Hello Varun,

Roles required for technical operations work centers are

SAP_SMWORK_BASIC : providing basic authorizations,

SAP_SMWORK_LANDSCAPE_MAN: providing access to System Landscape Management,

SAP_SMWORK_SYS_ADMIN: providing access to System Administration, and

SAP_SMWORK_SYS_MON: providing access to System Monitoring.

These roles are contained in composite role SAP_SMWORK_ADMINISTRATOR_COMP.

Hi Amit,

I have added the below roles to the user:

SAP_SMWORK_ITEST

SAP_SMWORK_LANDSCAPE_MAN

SAP_SMWORK_BASIC

SAP_SMWORK_CHANGE_MAN

SAP_SMWORK_SETUP

Still I am not getting the "Test Management" tab in the workcenter screen. I can see all other tabs other than this tab.

I asked the basis persons. They told that the standard authorization role has been changed and it can not be reset. All roles are showing as manually.

Can I know what are the authorization roles to be added to the "SAP_SMWORK_ITEST" role to activate the test mangement tab in workcenter. I am pasting the role showing in the "Display role : Authorization" screen:

P_SMWORK_ITEST Role SAP_SMWORK_ITEST is for Test Management

Manually Not assigned to a class

Manually Cross-application Authorization Objects

Manually PLM ACOs

Manually BBP Component

Manually Basis: Administration

Manually Basis - Development Environment

Manually Basis - Central Functions

Manually Solution Manager

Call transaction PFCG and assign the following role to the users who wants to use workcenters.

SAP_SMWORK_BASIC - Basic authorization to work on work centers.

SAP_SMWORK_ITEST - Work center for Test Management.

Thanks All,

I have added the roles -

SAP_SMWORK_BASIC - Basic authorization to work on work centers.

SAP_SMWORK_ITEST - Work center for Test Management.

In the 'SAP_SMWORK_ITEST' work center, I am getting an error message in the 'Workflow' tab and am unable to add 'Workflow tasks'.

Also the 'Authorizations' and 'User' tabs are giving me warning messages.

Any pointers on how I can resolve these issues?

Could you please confirm that

1. A profile has been created for this role in PFCG transaction?

2. You have done a User Comparison in PFCG and the traffic lights are green?

Hi,

Call transaction PFCG--

Enter the role name as SAP_SMWORK_ITESTand choose 'change'

Select the authorization tab--Check whether the traffic signal is green or not..

If not, select 'Change Authorization data' and click on 'generate' (shift+F5)--Save.

Then select the tab User--

Select your user and click on 'User Comparison'. this should also turn to green.

Let me know if you face any issues..

The tabs for Authorization and User are green now.

Only the 'Workflow' tab is now showing an error message. Any idea how this can be resolved?

Hi Rajeev,

I have performed the same activities for the role SM_SMWORK_BASIC too and the status is green for the tabs - 'Menu', 'Authorizations' and 'User'.

I have added some tasks to the 'Workflow' tab and the status is now green for the 'Workflow' tab too.

But on using the TCode - 'SOLMAN_WORKCENTER', I can see only the 'Change Management' tab. I am unable to see the 'Test Management' tab.
