EWM Putaway Storage Section Indicator Defaulting to Incorrect Putaway Bin

Product does not have a Fixed Bin assigned and the Putaway Storage Section Indicator is set to HTZN in EWM Product Master Data, then the assumption is the automatic warehouse task Storage Bin for Putaway should go to a Bin with the Storage Section HTZN, it does not.

Error message "No bin search possible. Storage types/sections/bin types incomplete" (/SCWM/PUT_BIN_DET 075) basically means that no storage type / Storage section / bin type combination is found for a destination bin search. 

I would check the setup of your putaway strategies. 

Is there a storage type search sequence maintained that finds storage type for your product. Same for storage section and bin type. 

I would first check the putaway warehouse task creation log. You can do it in the warehouse monitor -> tools -> applciation log. Search for object /SCWM/WME you might further restrict to subobject WHS_TASK. In the application log you see he detailed steps which steps in putaway warehouse task creation have been successful and when did it fail. e.g. you see of a storage type is found, but no section or bin type.

Note: you will find only an application log if logging is switched on in transaction /SCWM/ACTLOG

did you activate in IMG  the hazardous substance check for your storage type and section?

• IMG activity “Storage Section Check”: Extended Warehouse Management -> Goods Receipt Process -> Strategies -> Storage Section Search -> Storage Section Check
